Update: K2DynaMap (1.5.4)

I've just posted a new update to K2DynaMap which includes a few bug fixes and adds a few new options.

One of the main new features of this update is to utilise Latitude & Longitude fields that you may already have stored in Extra Fields.  A new config parameter enables, or disables, this feature.

There are a further two new parameters, 'Auto Popup' and 'Auto Load'.  The former lets you choose whether you want to enable Info Windows to popup on MouseOver, as opposed to MouseClick.  The latter, 'Auto Load', will automatically popup the centered item's Info Window.

All the details are over on the Download Page, so go get the latest version!! :^)

This time round, the thanks go to Chad for a couple of the ideas!!

I've just started the conversion to a Joomla 2.5 version, so hopefully that'll be the next update.

Stalker, TalkToMe, & JoomPing re-homed!

Hey all,

It's with a fair amount of relief and sadness that I'd like to announce that my Stalker, TalkToMe & JoomPing extensions have now found a new maintainer, Alain Rivest.  Fortunately, Alain seems to have settled in quickly enough, and a J1.6 version of Stalker is already available!!  You can go ahead and download the new versions from http://aldra.ca/

So thank you all for your kind words and support over the development of Stalker, and making it a lot bigger than I ever expected it to be!  And of course, a huge thank you to Alain for continuing with the projects!!

It's been a great ride, I've learnt a lot along the way, but I have to concentrate on some 'real' paid work for now!

All the best
Nick

Stalker, K2DynaMap etc: Looking for a new home!!

After a few weeks of procrastinating, I've finally come up with the decision to put an end to the support and development of my Joomla extensions.  It was a very difficult decision to make, on the one hand, I really enjoyed developing them, but on the other, my income has taken such a hit that I really need to put all my time and effort into building up my paying work.  60% of my Inbox is emails about Stalker & K2DynaMap, and it's becoming harder for me to concentrate on the important work... the stuff that pays the bills!

I'd much prefer they didn't vanish into thin air, so if there is anyone out there willing to take on the projects (mainly Stalker, K2DynaMap and TalkToMe as they're widely used), then please shoot me an email via the contact form, and I'll send over the code.

A MASSIVE THANK YOU to everyone who has supported the projects to date, and hopefully I'll be able to find someone to continue further development of them... watch this space!

Big Update: K2DynaMap (1.5.0)

After a marathon slog, and some rigourous user testing (Thanks Stavros & Ken), K2DynaMap 1.5 is now available for download.  This update see's the whole Map generation code re-written to use Google's latest Maps API v3.  I wasn't happy with the old library that I'd used, and there were too many limitations, so I bit the bullet, and hopefully what's come out the other side is hugely improved!!

There are a stack of changes, including Geocoding options for adding markers to K2 Items (yes, no more having to work out the Lat & Long!),  much improved marker's (including custom icons), better tab handling where there are more than one marker on the same geographical location.  There are lots of bug fixes, and several new ideas forming!

All updates are listed on the Download Page,  well, the ones I COULD remember, so go have a look and try out this new version!

I'd also like to throw out a big thank you to Stavros who really threw me some curve balls!  Thanks for your patience & help mate! (see K2DynaMap in action at http://www.go-out.gr/).

Update: Stalker (1.2.3)

Stalker 1.2.3 is now available for download.  Hopefully, the next release will bring Joomla 1.6 compatibility!

This version mainly fixes up a couple of issues:

- Icons now have their width & height set by styles, to try and fix up problems where third-party style sheets mess with the icon sizing

- Removed the LinkedIn Group network, and updated the LinkedIn parameter, so that you can add the relevant prefix in, i.e. in/ company/ etc. If you used LinkedIn before, you'll need to add in/ in front of your Id.

- Fixed an error message that was appearing in the plugin

- MeFeedia has been added as a new network

- The JomSocial & Community Builder plugins can now select an iconset to use.

Head on over to the download page to download the latest Stalker
